Thorpe Shwer partner, Andrea Marconi, has been elected to serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Arizona Humane Society. In operation since 1957, the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is Arizona’s largest animal welfare and protection agency.
Andrea has served on the AHS Board of Directors for more than five years, holding numerous leadership positions on the Board. In 2014, Andrea also co-chaired AHS’ signature event, Compassion with Fashion. Andrea is now thrilled to lead an extraordinary group of directors at AHS in 2019.
Since 1957, the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) has fostered the belief that every pet deserves a good life. What once began as a small shelter established by a compassionate group of volunteers has since grown to become the state’s largest animal welfare and protection agency, as well as the state’s designated responder for animals in distress during natural disasters.
Throughout the years, a commitment to thinking differently about animal welfare has led to countless first-of-their-kind programs, services, education and communication techniques that have been emulated by organizations all over the world.
From AHS’ Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ program to its Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™ to the Kitten Nursery and Bottle Baby ICU, Parvo Puppy ICU and Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Adoption Vehicle, AHS has a vision to end animal suffering, homelessness and needless euthanasia.
Andrea is proud to serve as AHS’ 2019 Chair of the Board of Directors and continue working to support and expand the organization’s efforts to protect companion animals throughout Arizona.
